The man accused of killing in the fatal shooting of Migos rapper Takeoff in Houston has been released on US $1 million bail.
Patrick Xavier Clark, 33, was released from the Harris County jail Tuesday, according to court records.
Clark was arrested on Dec. 1 on a murder charge. His attorney, Letitia Quinones, said Clark has a “valid and proper claim of self-defense.”
Takeoff, 28, was shot in the head and returned on November 1. More than 30 people were leaving a private party at the bowling center.
Houston police have said the gunfire involved a disagreement over a “profitable” game of dice, but Takeoff was not involved and “an innocent bystander.”
Born Kirsnick Khari Ball, Takeoff is the youngest member of Migos, a Grammy-nominated rap trio from suburban Atlanta that also features uncle Quavo and brother Offset.
Clark, on condition of release, is under house arrest, required to wear a GPS tracking device and to be in contact with anyone involved in the shooting investigation.
Clark is scheduled to appear in court again on March 9.
