Mahama promised to investigate the killing of 8 people in the 2020 election
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Presidential candidate, John Dramani Mahama has promised to investigate the killing of eight (8) people during the 2020 elections.
He has therefore assured the families of all those who died in the tragic incident not to despair.
“God willing, when we come to office, we will investigate the murders, bring the perpetrators to face the law and pay the appropriate compensation”, Mr. Mahama announced during his campaign in Techiman North Constituency.
Eight people died tragically, due to gunshots, allegedly fired by military personnel during the 2020 elections.
Mr. Mahama is in Bono Eastern Region to meet party delegates ahead of the NDC May 13, 2023, presidential primaries.
The spokesperson of the former President, Joyce Bawah Mogtari, in a statement signed on March 11, said, “despite being considered a front runner and party officials who asked him not to campaign, the former president has decided to visit all 275 constituencies and interact directly with branch executives and constituents .
“He has since been nominated by the party, launched his campaign, and visited the Volta Region. He is currently on a two-day tour of Bono East Region and will continue to Bono and Ahafo Region”.
