The Governorship candidate of the Labor Party (LP) in Lagos State, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour (GRV), has confirmed talks with the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state.
The LP candidate told his supporters in the Lekki area of Lagos that talks with the PDP became necessary to form a common front against the All Progressives Congress (APC) in next week’s governorship contest.
According to GRV, the APC government has mismanaged the country’s resources; therefore, he participated in the race to give back to those who belonged to him.
He said: “We are talking to those who have PDP structures. In the coming days, we will align with them to ensure that we take Lagos to the next level. The people behind this movement are not moved by money; they voted for hope, they are moved by the hope of the new Lagos and they want to come out more than before. People have seen how one person in the interests of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) rubbished the process; so, we are ready to fight.
“I have seen the pain of Lagos. We know the truth is that the present government will not reduce unemployment, but the government will make the youths productive members of the society. We will give Lagos a bright light.
“We have come a long way to go back, I am Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour from the Rhodes-Vivour family from Lagos Island, true Lagos blood, I promise to stand fast with you till the end. If people are determined to make a change, no power on earth can stop them. So we must not give up.”
Speaking on the fear of job loss, he said: “I also assured the workers in the state that no one will be victimized or lose their jobs while in office. We will build a better Lagos for all.
