A chief of Labor Party (LP) in Ebonyi StateHenry Ude, has defected to People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
This was contained in a statement on Wednesday in Abakaliki by the Director, Media and Publicity, PDP Governorship Campaign Council in the state, Abia Onyike.
Mr. Ude, or known as Ajim Best, is one of the founding fathers of Ebonyi State and LP leaders in Okposi, Ohaozara Local Government Area of the state.
He confirmed to newsmen in Abakaliki on Wednesday, his defection to the PDP.
The decision to return to his former party, PDP, to help in the struggle to “liberate the country from the political quagmire,” he said.
Mr. Ude, a founding member of the PDP is famous for single-handedly sponsoring media advertisements during the struggle to create Ebony in the early 1990s by the Military Head of State, Sani Abacha.
He said he is confident that the PDP has the capacity to restore peace, security and freedom to the people of the country.
“I am now in PDP to join other patriotic forces that want freedom of movement, freedom of association and freedom for freedom and progress,” Mr. Ude said.

He called on the people of Ebonyi State to join the “new political liberation movement” led by the state’s PDP governorship candidate, Ifeanyi Chukwuma Odii to wrestle power from the APC-led administration in the state.

“I assure the people of Ebonyi that it is doable, doable and doable for the PDP to reclaim the stolen mandate to reposition the country through good governance to address the well-being and welfare of the people.
“The secret of life is, ‘no fear’. When you are pushed and you keep running, you will never stop running. With the help of God Almighty, Ebonyi will be free again,” he said.
