After two sons, Loren and Alexei Brovarnik now have “three minus three”. That’s a lot.
Fans know that the couple welcomed baby Ariel last year, in September.
In this week Loren & Alexei: After 90 Days, viewers finally got to watch the moment when they brought Ariel home. And when the boy met her.
When Monday’s episode began, viewers more or less knew what was coming.
First, because Loren gave birth to Ariel Raya via C-section in September. It’s not a secret. There is no disguise.
And secondly, because the episode was born specifically – said right in the name of the episode. That doesn’t mean longtime fans aren’t excited to see this family grow again.
However, just as Asher’s birth was fraught with complications, so was their first daughter.
Loren had to go to an emergency C-section for premature baby #3. It’s a “mess,” among other things.
He needs to stay in the hospital so doctors can make sure he’s recovered from the surgery. And he didn’t lose much blood.
Meanwhile, baby Ariel is not ready to go home. Not safe, anyway.
She stayed in the NICU after Loren was born. For more than three weeks, he did not leave the hospital.
However, in the end, doctors gave Loren and Alexei the go-ahead. Instead of constantly visiting the baby girl, she can take her home.
The proud parents aren’t the only ones who are overjoyed at this moment.
Even as they were driving to the hospital, he asked Shai, the eldest son, if he thought it would be nice to see his baby sister.
He really is. Although, when Loren confesses on camera, Asher seems a little less aware of what’s going on.
In fact, Loren explained. Not only did Shai express her excitement to meet Ariel, but she knew she was coming home with him.
That makes sense. When this special episode was filmed, Shai was almost two and a half years old. More than old enough for most (but not all) children to understand what it means to have siblings. Besides, she had been through this with Asher.
As for Asyer … he knew something was going on. But a lot of things are “new” and “fun” when you’re a kid. You have a sister and she will live with us forever is a little abstract for at least one-year-old.
Shai excitedly pointed as she saw her mother approaching, with baby Ariel in her arms.
Ariel was only 33 weeks into the emergency delivery. Even after this time in the hospital, he had some catching up to do.
The family had to wait a while for the NICU release documents. It’s not a quick process. But Ariel came out first.
Loren aptly labeled the moment as “surreal”. He added: “Our son is going to meet his sister and we have been waiting for this for so long.”
Shai couldn’t pretend to be less enthusiastic. He hurried over to his baby sister.
With Loren’s guidance, he placed the softest kiss on the forehead.
Asher, on the other hand, seems less involved. Alexei brought him, but quickly became sad.
We don’t think this is the birth of an epic sibling rivalry. He was just a baby on his own. Hard to dote on the baby when you that is one.
