As you may have heard by now, Lisa Marie Presley passed away last week after suffering a heart attack at her home in Los Angeles.
Presley’s first wife performed CPR and kept him alive until paramedics arrived.
But by the time he reached the hospital, it was too late for the doctor to resuscitate him.
The only daughter of music icon Elvis Presley, Lisa Marie is only 54 years old.
Outpourings of grief from her family, friends and legions of adoring fans quickly made Lisa Marie a trending topic across the social media landscape.
Now, the Presley family is thanking their fans with a public memorial service held this Sunday at Elvis’ Graceland estate in Tennessee.
“Riley, Harper, Finley, and Priscilla are grateful for the outpouring of support, hope, and love for their beloved Lisa Marie,” a representative for the Presley family told Us Weekly in a statement Monday.
“A public memorial service has been arranged on the front lawn of Graceland at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday, January 22, in Memphis. Please stop by [the official Graceland website] for more information.”
The family also stated that “those who wish to send something” do so by making a donation to the Elvis Presley Charitable Foundation.
According to its website, the organization offers “support for a variety of charitable organizations, primarily focusing on arts, education, and children’s programs in the Memphis/Whitehaven area.”
News of Lisa Marie’s death was announced by her mother, Priscilla, who released a statement just hours after her daughter’s death.
“It is with a heavy heart that I have to share the devastating news that my beautiful daughter Lisa Marie has left us,” Priscilla wrote.
“She was the strongest and most loving woman I have ever known. We ask for our privacy as we try to cope with this great loss.
Lisa Marie spent her whole life in the public eye, first as the daughter of Elvis, and then as the wife of Nicolas Cage and then Michael Jackson.
In recent months, he made the media rounds to promote the acclaimed biopic about his father, and a few days before his death Lisa Marie attended the Golden Globes 2023, where Austin Butler won best actor for the role of Elvis.
Lisa Marie is the mother of four children, including actress Riley Keough.
