The last goal saw Kotoko qualify for the FA Cup
Asante Kotoko have booked their place in the round of 16 of this season’s MTN FA Cup after a hard-fought win over Benab on Saturday evening.
The third tier proved stubborn for Kotoko who needed a late goal from Maxwell Agyeman to win 2-1 at the Baba Yara Stadium.
In the 17th minute, Kotoko took the lead after a Benab player took Kotoko’s free kick into his own goal.
Benab responded positively and equalized after 70 minutes. They defended well hoping for a penalty but Agyeman struck in the 90th minute.
Kotoko remains in the hunt for a double this season.
Earlier in the day, Legon Cities beat Great Olympics and Aduana Stars beat Tano Bofoakwa.
