Lagos Guber race: Eti-Osa traditional leaders back Sanwo-Olu for 2nd term | The Guardian Nigeria News

Traditional Rulers in 62 communities in Eti-Osa Local Government Area of Lagos State have assured Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of re-election, come March 11 Governorship Election.

Speaking during a press conference in Ikota, the Chairman of the Eti-Osa Baale Forum, Chief Wasiu Ali-Balogun, said that Sanwo-Olu has fulfilled his promises to the people of Lagos state, therefore, the “Baales” support his re-election for a 2nd term in office.

Ali-Balogun said there were many irregularities during the February 25 Presidential Election, adding that security would be increased to ensure security during the Governorship Election.

Therefore, he called on the people of Eti-Osa to put aside the results of the Presidential Election, and come out en masse to vote for the candidate of the All Progressives Congress.

“A governor who is a governor is a governor of all the people, a governor who is elected, trusted and responsible, works hard, a governor who listens.

“We are firmly behind the governor, the current administration up to the federal level.

“With what happened during the presidential election, many people were disorganized, but we have to come and correct that impression.

“Elections will come and elections will be held, but the Eti-Osa Baale Forum will remain one.

“Our governor has done a lot of good work that we can easily show. When we have something about us especially Baales, I can say that it gives good recognition to Baales in the whole Lagos State.

“We are calling this meeting to advise those who may be upset with the results of the last election to forget it.

“Let us forget the past and face the future, because the only thing we need to do is ask them to forget what anyone did during the general election because of Governor Sanwo-Olu,” Ali-Balogun said.
