Lagos APC suspends campaign | Premium Times Nigeria

The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has suspended its campaign towards the forthcoming elections.

According to the party’s release, the state chairman, Cornelius Ojelabi, said the decision was taken as a result of the state’s lack of fuel and the pain caused by the Naira redesign.

In the statement quoted APC chairman aa empathizing with the general public, especially down trodden who at the end of receiving hardships triggered by the Naira redesign policy.

He said it would be insensitive to go ahead with various rallies under the circumstances.

“Mr. Ojelabi said APC members are not immune to the development because they have been inundated with several complaints,” Seye Oladejo, the APC spokesperson, said in a statement on Tuesday.

“He joined the voices of other well-meaning Nigerians in calling for a review of the Naira redesign policy to give it a human face and alleviate the suffering of ordinary Nigerians. He also called for petroleum products to be made available so as not to jeopardize election preparations and reduce the economic impact the negative.

“He enjoined all Lagosians to remain law abiding as all problems have been resolved.”
