Punters have no confidence in Sunak
Above is a chart from Smarkets of bets on which party will win the most seats in the next general election. The highlight here is that there has been considerable negative movement for the Tories especially since Sunak became Prime Minister.
The Tories down to less than 25% chance which I would calculate probably overstates their position.
One of the problems for The Tories is that so far at least Rishi Sunak has not made a positive impression on the voting public. The details also show that he is struggling with people who normally vote for the party.
They don’t work as they feel. They are only wooden and approach the industrial crisis in a naive way.
I’m sure there are many in the parliamentary party who know what went wrong with the appointment and how the chances of the Tories getting out of this well have gone down in months. My money is going out in 2023.
