Kyle Richards claims he and she The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills castmates come off their longest hiatus yet.
As cameras begin filming scenes for season 13 in Los Angeles, Kyle reflects on her downtime while also addressing the many casting rumors surrounding the new episode, sharing insight into her budding relationships with her co-stars, and admitting there’s one good thing Add Chest leave the show.
“Usually we take a month off after the reunion. It’s been four months now. We have never been that. This is the longest break I’ve had in 13 years,” Kyle told In The Know by Yahoo Gibson Johns on February 7.
According to Kyle, he has spent his downtime in his new home in Aspen, traveling, and doing his best to give his heart a break from the drama. After all, season 12 wasn’t the easiest season for Kyle as it featured a fight between him and his sister, Kathy Hilton.
“There are some seasons where I can do no wrong, and then there are some seasons when people follow me and I deserve it. Then there are times when I feel like I didn’t do anything and they will still follow me. You just don’t know,” Kyle said about the reaction fans at the event. “I try to stay with people who know me and know who I am and love and support me. It’s easy for me not to think about the show… It’s great for me to have this extra time, that’s for sure.
When resting, RHOBA was targeted with tons of casting rumors about potential comebacks of former cast members, like Lisa Vanderpump and Brandi Glanvilleand additions can be from newbies, like Ayda Field and even Paris Hilton. But Kyle says none of the reports are true.
“Ayda Field, something is said about her [joining the show],” Kyle shared. “I can only tell you that not one thing I read online is true. Not one thing.”
In fact Melanie Griffith it was recently linked to the event.
“I remember I was talking to Melanie Griffith in Halloween premiere and I was like, ‘Apparently, I’ve been trying to get you on the show!’ And he said, ‘I saw that somewhere!’ I’ve never met her, but I saw her on the plane in Aspen and we talked at the airport in Aspen and said hi – we’re both very close to Jamie Lee Curtis,” explained Kyle, admitting that he would love Melanie to be on the show.
“If you’re reading this, Melanie, come on, let’s do it,” he said.
As for his hopes for season 13, Kyle says he wants to know Crystal Kung-Minkoff and Garcelle Beauvais advisable.
“I feel like Crystal and I really don’t have a chance [to get close]. We’ve had our moments of not getting along, but when we don’t have those moments, we get along. We’re just not close yet,” he shared. “I think it’s close [Sutton Stracke], which I don’t think you see on the show… We get along well. He makes me laugh, and we have a lot of fun together.
“[Then there’s] Garcelle, “he continued,” that I have crashed with. I really like Garcelle. We get along very well, and we are good and I hope to be closer and have fun with him.
And while Kyle will definitely miss her friend Rinna, saying she “brought a lot to the show,” she believes her farewell will make new friends among the group.
“When someone is very close to another cast member and they leave, then suddenly people who are very close to them have to be more open about other relationships – especially Erika. [Girardi], I will say. I’m always close to Erika and we had this problem last year, but people end up depending on the wingman, so it opens the door to get closer to others,” he reasons.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills season 13 is currently in production.
