From Kyle Chrisley/InstagramKyle Chrisley had been arrested two months after his father, Todd Chrisleyand stepmother, Julie Chrisleyreported to prison for tax evasion, Us Weekly can confirm.
A representative for the Tennessee Rutherford County Jail told TMZ that Kyle, 31, was booked for “felony aggravated assault” on March 13. A spokesperson also told the outlet that the former reality star was released after posting $3,000 bail.
Kyle, his mother was Todd’s first wife, Teresa Terryhas long struggled with mental health and substance abuse issues.
In 2019, the former Chrisley knows best star was hospitalized after trying to pass away. She later opened up about headspace on an episode of her dad’s podcast, “Chrisley Confessions.”
“I was taking medication and I had bad side effects, and I tried to kill myself,” he said at the time, explaining that his 10-year-old daughter Chloe – who he shares with his ex-wife – was in trouble. Angela Johnson – living with his father and stepmother at the time because of “my addiction and mental illness.”
“What they’re saying now is that they have two dads,” Kyle said on the podcast.
At that time, Todd and Julie were dealing with personal problems. A month earlier, he was charged with tax evasion, bank fraud, wire fraud and numerous conspiracies. Three years later, he was convicted of bank and tax violations, according to the U.S. District Attorney’s Office, Northern District of Georgia. He was sentenced to prison in November 2022, and began serving his sentence two months later. Todd, 53, is currently serving 12.5 years in prison, while Julie, 50, is serving seven years.
After his parents’ sentence, Kyle shared a Bible verse about withholding judgment.
“Do not judge, or you will be judged. For with the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you,” read the post, which quotes Matthew 7: 1-3. “Who that you look at the dust in your brother’s eye, and ignore the beam in your own eye?”
Kyle’s younger brother Savannah has had custody of Chloe – as well as her teenage brother, Grayson – since her parents were sentenced to prison. (Grayson, for his part, was involved in a serious car accident before his parents were convicted.)
“[I’m] trying to navigate how you teach two kids who aren’t fully developed and … let them understand the situation,” Savannah, 25, said on the “Unlocking” podcast the day after her parents’ sentencing in November 2022. “It’s been really hard.”
In addition to Kyle, Savannah and Grayson, Todd also shares a daughter Lindsay33, with Terry, too chase26, with Julie.
