Kwasi Sibo confirms offers from Premier League and Saudi clubs

Ghana midfielder Kwasi Sibo has revealed that he is weighing up offers from the Premier League and the Saudi Pro League as he prepares for the next chapter of his career following the expiration of his contract with Spanish side Real Oviedo.

Speaking to 3Sports, the 28-year-old confirmed that he is in discussions with clubs from both leagues and expects to make a decision on his future within the week.

“I have offers from the Premiership. I have offers from the Saudi Premier League. So I’m looking forward to those offers within this week. I will know because I feel like I’m still young. I’m 28. I’m not old.”

The midfielder’s stock has risen significantly following his performances for Ghana at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Sibo made his tournament debut against Panama, earning a starting role against England. He featured in all four of Ghana’s matches, accumulating 249 minutes of action as the Black Stars progressed from the group stage before exiting in the Round of 32.

Sibo joined Real Oviedo in 2024 from Amorebieta on a free transfer following a stint at Real Betis. His career has taken him across Europe, with spells at Urartu, Watford, Skenderbeu, UD Ibiza, Real Betis, and Amorebieta before his time in Oviedo.

Reflecting on his time in Spain’s top flight, Sibo acknowledged the challenges of competing in La Liga while reaffirming his ambition to play in the Champions League.

“I still have the strength to be in Europe, to compete. If my agent is able to find a team that will be competing in the Champions League, I’m always at service and I’m ready to face that challenge.”

Greek giants PAOK have opened direct negotiations to sign Sibo, presenting the midfielder with a two-year contract offer. The Thessaloniki-based club are keen to strengthen their midfield ahead of the new campaign and view Sibo as a player capable of adding experience, defensive stability, and composure in possession.

With competing proposals on the table from England, Saudi Arabia, and Greece, Sibo is carefully considering his options before deciding on the next step in his career. The former Real Oviedo player has also attracted interest from clubs in Qatar, making him one of the most sought-after free agents on the market this summer.
