Kotoko is held in Nsoatre as Medeama Legon Cities complex
Asante Kotoko’s poor form was thrown out again on Saturday when they were held to a scoreless draw with Nsoatreman FC at Park Nana Amoah Koramansah II.
The league champions lost to Dreams FC last Sunday and have not won away from home in six previous attempts. Nsoatreman, who is optimistic despite Kotoko’s high profile, beat his opponents, who lost some of coach Zerbo’s favorite players to injuries.
In an effort to maintain and even improve their home form, Nsoatreman threatened to find the winner, but the visitors are determined to avoid another defeat that could jeopardize their title hopes. Kotoko are currently second on the log, while they await the results of their remaining 18 matches, which will be played on Sunday evening, to decide their fate.
Elsewhere Medeama SC continued their good run with Nurudeen Abdulai and Joshua Agyemang scoring to power Medeama SC to a 2-0 win at Akoon Park on Friday to move to seventh on the league log. Legon Cities on the other hand face the fear of finishing in the relegation zone as they are 15th with 21 points.
Bottom-placed Accra Lions and Kotoku Royals also played out a goalless draw in Saturday’s second leg.
The match will continue on Sunday with Hearts of Oak taking on Aduana Stars to headline another six-match tie.
