
South Africa’s Cheslin Kolbe was carried off the field on Saturday with a suspected ankle injury as Toulon beat Lyon 27-23 in France’s Top 14.
Kolbe, who played five matches of the Springboks’ 2019 Rugby World Cup campaign, left the field in the 36th minute after scoring a try at the Stade de Gerland.

Broadcaster Canal + said the 29-year-old suffered a sprained ankle when he bounced to the ground after diving for a touchdown.
The winger, who made the last of his 24 Test appearances in November, broke down in tears as a golf cart carried him to the stands, a worrying image with this year’s World Cup in France less than six months away.
