Speaking to Pulse.com.gh in an exclusive interview, the midfielder opened up about his childhood.
He explained that although he enjoyed playing basketball as a child, football was always his passion.
He further named Neymar as his childhood idol, insisting that he idolized the PSG superstar and often went to YouTube to study his style of play.
“It’s Neymar Jr,” Kyereh replied when asked about his favorite football player. “The first time I saw him was when he was playing for Santos at his first club in Brazil, he was 16 and I was 12.
“And the style and the fun of watching him play is what I love about him. And since then I always check on YouTube for new skill videos of him playing football. I will ask for the ball and meet with friends or alone to learn the dribbling skills that he does in the video.
“When no one knows him as much as I do now I tell my friends about him and seeing his career now is an inspiration. At the same time I follow his career and build my career step by step to achieve the same goal.
Kyereh made substitute appearances in all three matches as Ghana crashed out of the Qatar 2022 World Cup at the group stage.
