Kingdom men and Babylon’s gold (2), By Ayo Akerele

Most of the people who are caught by mammon are deceived and deceived – whether it is because of their original need, a friend, a spiritual father, or a mentor. It’s a very serious thing. If it wasn’t easy to be deceived, Jesus wouldn’t have said, “TAKE CARE” in Luke 12:15. Cheating is always rooted in greed. And this is what Nebuchadnezzar used: come and celebrate with me.

Daniel Chapter 3 is one of the most amazing chapters in the Bible. Why? It tells the story of three people who, against all odds, stand up for God in a godless culture, and even put their lives at great risk. This story is incredible, teaching our generation the virtue of trust, faith and absolute trust in God; same, general obedience to the word of God, and determination not to serve other gods.

Nebuchadnezzar made a golden statue (60 meters (90 ft) high). What does this image represent? MAMON, the love of money, greed, and covetousness, which the Bible strongly warns us against. Look at Luke 12:15: “beware of covetousness.”

Nebuchadnezzar is the one who saw the terrifying vision in Daniel 2 and asked Daniel to explain the dream. It means this: His kingdom will fall and other kingdoms will take it from him. Are people humble enough to seek God? Not. Bible scholars say that between Daniel Chapter 2 and 3, there is a period of about 20 years.

So, to take revenge on everyone, Nebuchadnezzar decided to do something crazy – to build an idol to save them, because he knew that his kingdom would not last.

After the construction of this giant golden image, he invited the people to the devotion, where he created a musical orchestra and then ordered about 300,000 people – according to biblical history – to worship the image (Daniel 3: 2-7). ).

So, the progress comes from dedication, music and worship. I am confused to see the role of music and orchestra in this whole game. Why does the king use music in this scenario? Because music is a powerful tool of manipulation, that explains why the environment of music, fun, singing and partying is usually used to lure people to places where they will capture their souls for mammon.

Note his progress: He did not ask people to come and worship the idol. He invited them to present the image (Daniel 3:2). When he arrived, he moved the goal post – everyone should bow to this image. Something serious jumps out here: “DECEPTION”.

  1. You should beware of the preachers you listen to whose sugar coated prosperity teachings can lure you into a world of greed. You have to be very careful;
  2. You cannot be found in every party, every meeting, or every society. DANIEL KONSPIK IS NOT HAPPY at this event, probably because he intentionally left the location, already knowing what will happen. He must have seen construction begin and progress over the years. Being a very sensitive person, he was absent.

The point of this story is that when Shedrakh, Mechach and Abednego came into the picture, they also did not attend the service like Daniel, but were forced to attend because of the envy of the other political figures in Babylon.

The Golden Image is the Babylonian system of Mammon ruling the world; the love of money. It works by lying. Don’t fall for it. God will prosper you in his own way through: hard words, divine purpose, diligence, excellence and contentment.

Something happened that confused the world for many generations (Verses 12-30):

  1. Nebuchadnezzar gave the children a second chance, something that would not have happened if he did not respect them;
  2. These children fight against the most powerful man on earth and say, ‘I am not careful to answer you.’ The height of disregard for Nebuchadnezzar;
  3. These boys confirmed their trust in God, they went from faith to trust;
  4. The king acted foolishly by asking to heat the fire seven times;
  5. The fourth person appeared in the fire, Jesus, the son of God and even cloth smelt of fire.

Such is the power of devotion and devotion to God and his word even in the face of death.

  1. The people of the Kingdom did not bow down to Mammon, even if it cost them their lives;
  2. The Royal people do not perform money rituals to develop their church;
  3. The royal people do not support or promote corruption to make money.

“Because the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil, some people fall away from the faith because of greed, and suffer many hardships.” (1 Timothy 6:10).

The golden image is the Babylonian system of Mammon ruling the world; the love of money. It works by lying. Don’t fall for it. God will prosper you in his own way through: hard words, divine purpose, diligence, excellence and contentment.

“Kindness with contentment is a great advantage.” (1 Timothy 6:6).
