It’s official – Meghan Markle and Prince Harry accept an invitation to King Charles‘the coronation!
After months of speculation over whether Her Royal Highness would ask her to attend the celebrations in May, a spokesman for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex confirmed The Sunday Times who made the invitation … via email:
“I can confirm that the Duke has received email correspondence from His Majesty’s office regarding the coronation.”
Did everyone get an e-vite or is this the royal family’s subtle way of shadowing the couple? Lol. As for whether or not Meghan and Harry will attend the coronation, that decision is still up in the air at the moment. Rep added:
“An immediate decision on whether the Duke and Duchess will attend will not be revealed at this time.”

No other details about the correspondence have been revealed at this time, so we’ll have to wait and see if they RSVP yes! Chances are they will, though? It must have seemed tenuous as his relationship with his family had been strained since stepping down as a senior royal. It only got worse when Prince Harry’s memoir was released sparehe shared some juicy details about life in the palace and even a physical altercation with his brother Prince William.
Of course, the royals retaliated. A day after the book dropped, King Charles decided to remove Meghan and Harry from their home in England, Frogmore Cottageand given to those who are ashamed Prince Andrew. So if she will no longer have the five-bedroom property, she will have to find other living arrangements if she decides to go to the coronation. Well…
Although there is still drama between family members, a source close to the royal family previously revealed people that King Charles wanted things to be “calm” before the celebrations and really wanted Harry to be there:
“This is an important event for Charles, and he wants his son to be at the coronation to witness it. He wants to have Harry return to the family. If they don’t sort out, it will always be part of the King’s government and how it has left his family disjointed. He has a reputation as a distant parent, and it would be bad if he continued.
But when asked if he would attend the event ITV‘s Tom BradbyHarry felt the family should sit down and talk about everything that had happened over the years before a decision was made:
“There’s a lot that can happen between now and now. But, you know, the door is always open. The ball is in his court. There’s a lot to talk about, and I hope he’s willing to sit down and talk about it.
Who knew that King Charles and the royal family would comply with Harry’s pre-coronation provisions?! But since the prince and Meghan received an email (and not an official invitation or even a phone call), the chances of them sitting down for a peaceful talk do not seem strong. Reaction, Perezcious readers? Are you surprised he got an invite? Let us know in the comments below.
