Father said,

PETITION AGAINST MR. PETER OBI AND DATTI BABA-AHMED CONSIDER THEIR COMMENTS AND CLAIMS INCENDIARY THAT MAY CAUSE AN INSURRECTION OR INSURRECTION AGAINST THE NIGERIAN GOVERNMENT AND THE RIGHTLY ELECTED PRESIDENT.

I am writing this petition knowing that in a post-election period like this, it is necessary to calm the damaged nerves, lower the temperature and start the healing process. The President-Elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has issued a statement to this effect a few days ago.

However, it appears that the President and Vice-Presidential Candidates of the Labor Party, Mr. Peter Obi and Datti Baba-Ahmed are not ready to implement this path of peace for peace and national cohesion, while using their rights to do the right thing. constitutional means of redressal of their grievances. In this regard, since the declaration of the Presidential Election results, they have jumped from one media house to another media house with comments and statements about the declaration of the President chosen by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). These comments and statements were made, not only within the limits of using the rights of freedom of speech and the freedom to air grievances in public, but since then they have crossed the line to ask for the cutting of democracy by insisting on its adoption. other processes outside the contemplation of our Constitution. In some cases, the privye even called for the establishment of an Interim Government.

The latest is the comment made by Datti Baba-Ahmed on behalf of himself and Mr. Peter Obi on Channels TV on Wednesday, March 22, 2023, where he threatened that if the President-Elect is inaugurated on May 29, 2023. , it will be “a signal end of democracy”. Claiming to be the accuser, the judge and the jury alone, unilaterally declared the duly elected President “unconstitutional” and, in a subliminal way, threatened chaos if the President-elect was sworn in on May 29, 2023.

I also have it on good authority that Mr. Peter Obi and Datti Baba-Ahmed have camped some youths in a popular hotel in Abuja with the sole purpose of leading them to post daily messages on social media to cause panic and fear. in the federation and to lead people to unrest and social unrest.

It is important to note that Peter Obi and Datti Baba-Ahmed have submitted an Election Petition to the court for adjudication, but their actions and words are a subversion of the process that has been carried out in the court and a subversion of our Constitution and the established process. resolve disputes and grievances. These actions and utterances are building blocks for more sinister things and it is important that you take control of them NOW!

Under these circumstances, I submit this petition in my personal capacity as a patriotic Nigerian to summon/arrest, interrogate and after investigation, if necessary, charge the two individuals to court for their acts of sedition and treasonable crimes.

The most reliable,

FESTUS KEYAMO, SAN, FCIArb (UK)
