Spokesperson at All Progressive Congress The presidential campaign council (APC), Festus Keyamo, has sued the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, over fresh corruption allegations against him.
Mr. Keyamo has been issued a 72-hour ultimatum on January 16 Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), the Independent Corrupt Practices and other Offenses Commission (ICPC), and the Conduct Bureau (CCB), to arrest opposition leaders.
In a petition dated January 16, Mr. Keyamo asked the anti-corruption agency to arrest the former vice president for money laundering, violation of the Code of Conduct Act, conspiracy, and breach of trust and abuse.
Mr. Keyamo is basing his claim on the allegations leveled by Michael Achimugu, who claims to be a former aide to the PDP candidate.
Mr. Achimugu, in a series of social media posts, accused Atiku of using a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) to commit financial fraud.
Mr. Keyamo, who is a Senior Advocate of Nigeria and minister of state for Labor and Employment, stated that Mr. Achimugu provided substantial evidence to support the allegations against the PDP candidate and former President Olusegun Obasanjo.
With an ultimatum of any action taken by the anti-corruption agency, Mr. Keyamo, on Friday, filed his suit at the Federal High Court in Abuja seeking that Atiku surrender himself to the EFCC, ICPC, and CCB for thorough investigation.
He also sought an order for the agency to arrest and prosecute Atiku.

The lawyer joined Atiku along with EFCC, ICPC, and CCB as defendants in suit FHC/ABJ/CS/84/2023.
