Kellyanne Conway, a former adviser in the administration of President Donald Trump, has reportedly sorted out the details of her divorce with frequent Trump critic and lawyer George Conway after 22 years of marriage, Page Six reported on Friday.
The couple, who tied the knot in 2001 and have four children together, have expressed contrasting political views in recent years, with Bess Levin of Vanity Fair once calling their union “one of the greatest mysteries of the 21st century.”
George Conway’s criticism of Trump led the president to call him “the wife from hell” in 2019.
In a post on the Truth Social platform early Saturday, Trump offered “Congratulations” to Kellyanne Conway and called her wife a “disrespectful wife.”
The Page Six report comes after several hints from former Trump advisers that their marriage is facing challenges.
In her 2022 memoir, she wrote that her husband’s “daily flood broke our marriage vows to ‘love, respect, and honor’ one another.”
“I am worried about our future. I am worried about the damage that has been opened. And for what reason? For politics,” Wong said in an interview to promote the book that year.
During a separate interview in 2022, “CBS Mornings” co-host Gayle King shared a portion of her memoir that read, “The person you thought had your back has stabbed you in the back.”
“Isn’t that unfortunate,” replied Conway.
“Women may be related, but this is the next level. And I will say this. George Conway’s oath is not for Donald Trump. He does not owe allegiance or loyalty to a particular political party or president. It is for me and for respect and honor.
