Kelly Clarkson’s Kids Told Her They’re ‘Really Sad’ After Mom’s MESSY Divorce

We have heard how hard this divorce has been for Kelly Clarkson behind the curtain. And now she’s opening up about how her children have been affected.

As we’ve been following for a while now, Kelly and her ex-husband Brandon Blackstock going through a super messy split – how can anyone forget about all that ranch drama? As you might expect, the whole situation is worrying for the kids Rose River8, and Remi6.

In Monday’s episode of IRL Podcast the singer gets real about what the kids are doing. He told the host Angie Martinez:

“I am a mother’s child, and I am terribly independent. He would be out the door as soon as he could and could. He is very independent.

Apart from their independent children, they are also only children – and it seems that they do not know the truth of their parents’ divorce:

“I literally ask my kids every night when we’re snuggling, ‘Are you happy?’ And if not, what could make you happier? Sometimes he’ll say – especially the last two years – a lot – and it kills me – and I want him to be honest, so I don’t say, ‘Oh my God, don’t say that,’ but A lot of times it would be like, ‘You know, I’m so sad. I wish Mom and Dad were in the same house.’ And he was very honest about it. And I raised individuals like that.

Aggravate. Although what he had to say was very sad to hear, we have to say that Kelly encouraged him to express his feelings openly.

The 40-year-old says she can relate to her children because they are also children of divorce:

“I’m just sitting there and I’m like, ‘I know. I’m from a divorced family too. I’m asking. That sucks. But we’re going to try. And you love us so much. I think communicating with them and not treating people – them – do not treat them like adults, because they are not – but do not treat them like children. They are not small feelings. It is a big feeling, and it is a big emotion.

At Stronger The singer also revealed the moment he knew he had to make an incredibly difficult decision to leave Brandon. He remembers how he read an excerpt from the book Not loved by Glennon Doyle pushed him to finally call. This quote asks if you want your daughter to have the same home as you – and it leads to a real epiphany:

“It just changed my perspective on it. I’m a better parent when it comes to taking care of myself — the oxygen mask mentality, right? And you have to be careful that it goes down.”

yes already. You must put on an oxygen mask first. Parenting 101. Regardless of the decision to leave, he still maintains that the talent manager is his “first love”:

“My kids always ask, ‘So you’re not in love anymore?’ I was like, ‘No, I didn’t know it would go away.'”

Ouch. Like the title of the song, right? And Kelly’s latest record is sure to break some hearts! The next era will be centered around marriage and divorce:

“Every phase is in the next record. There’s sadness. There’s anger. It’s a lot because you go through all those emotions. If you don’t hit them all, are you really there?… I fell, like, on the ground, crying. What a loss. It’s dead … I don’t know if I’m going to release an album because I’m like, ‘I don’t know if I’m going to talk about this.’”

It’s great to hear she’s doing so well now, because she says she feels like herself more than ever:

“I’ve had a very difficult few years. It took me a few minutes and therapy to get there… You don’t have to get into arguments, every argument that comes your way.

And as for Catch My Breath singer’s love life? She’s not opposed to diving anymore, but she’s definitely happy to be single:

“I don’t want another man in my house with my kids. I really, really like being single. I like my bed. I like my routine.”

Great to see Kelly back on her A-game! Reaction, Perezcious readers?
