“The Nashville Emergency Communications Department received a 911 call at 1:21 a.m. on Friday from a home on Sneed Road in the West Precinct of the police department. Officers and personnel from the Nashville Fire Department responded and resident resident Kyle Jacobs, 49, died of an apparently self-inflicted gunshot wound in upstairs bedroom/office. Her death is being investigated as an apparent suicide,” the statement said at the time. “Mr. Jacobs’ wife, Kellie Pickler, reported that she woke up moments before, didn’t see her husband, and began looking for him. After she and her personal assistant were unable to open the upstairs bedroom/office door, the assistant called 911.
Jacobs may not live as directly in the spotlight as her husband, but she is universally respected as a successful songwriter, guitarist and pianist who penned hit songs for the country music elite. The Minnesota native penned tracks for artists including Kelly Clarkson, Team McGraw and Garth Brookswhose single “More Than a Memory” became the first Jacobs BillBoard Chart No.
When Jacobs was first introduced to Pickler in the early 2000s through a mutual friend, he did not hesitate to use his success in the industry as a way to woo the Mistletoe Secret star, open to Us Weekly In December 2015, the first pickup line was, “Hi, I’m Kyle. I’m a songwriter.”
At the time, Pickler joked about her reaction, telling me us, “I was like, ‘Great,'” with an eyeroll. “No, we started writing the next day,” he added.
