MANILA, Philippines—Justin Gutang Changwon LG Sakers defeated SJ Belangel and Daegu KOGAS Pegasus, 108-102, in the Korea Basketball League at the Daegu Gymnasium on Wednesday.
Justin Gutang contributed to LG Sakers’ victory with six points, two rebounds, one assist and one steal in just seven minutes. He missed just one of four shots from the field.
Assem Marei’s double performance led Changwon to a 25-14 record with 27 points, 10 rebounds, four assists and a block.
The home team relied on Murphy Holloway’s 21 points but it was to no avail. He also snagged nine rebounds in the losing effort.
Only 12 minutes into the game, Belangel quietly made five markers and three coins for Daegu.
Daegu is now two losses away from dropping to the top ten with a 13-25 card. Seoul sits at the bottom with 11 wins and 27 losses.
The KBL will have three more Philippine import events on Thursday as Ulsan Hyundai Mobis Phoebus of RJ Abarrientos take on Jeonju KCC Egis while Rhenz Abando and league leaders Anyang KGC look to maintain top spot against Wonju DB Promy’s Ethan Alvano.
