Former Vice President Kamala Harris fumed over President Donald Trump’s warped priorities while talking about how Democrats need to find a way to shift “the status quo” without taking a wrecking ball to the system.
While she said “disruption is important,” she questioned how “destruction for the sake of some grand gesture of ‘Look what I can do quickly overnight and just get rid of a thing’” without plans for “what is it actually going to do to improve people’s lives” could be productive.
Harris also took a moment to call out the president for focusing on White House renovations while food benefit funding is on the brink of running out, asking, “Are you fucking kidding me?”
“This guy wants to create a ballroom for his rich friends while completely turning a blind eye to the fact that babies are going to starve when the SNAP benefits end in just hours from now,” added a furious Harris.
Though outraged, the Democrats’ 2024 presidential contender told Stewart how her party can’t let Trump’s political antics take their focus away from figuring out concrete ways to confront real Americans’ struggles.
