Living in the public eye isn’t always a dream Hailey Bieber (née Baldwin) as she navigates her marriage and social media reactions.
After walking on the scene as the daughter of an actor Stephen Baldwin, Hailey started modeling and going out with other members of young Hollywood. In 2015, the former ballet dancer’s star rose when she got hitched Justin Bieber between breaks from on-again, off-again relationship with Selena Gomez. The two dated for a few months before pulling the plug in March 2016.
Justin will continue to be linked Sophia Richie and reunited with Gomez before settling down with Hailey in 2018. The two tied the knot in September after months of dating for the second time.
“I got married at the age of 21, two months before the age of 22, which is still very young. And it sounds almost ridiculous when I say it out loud. Although I think for people like me and people like Justin,[it’sdifferentswhatwewanted”shetold[ikubedaKitawisndelengakehkanggoumurkitaKitawiscukupuripkanggongertiapasingdikarepake”ujare[it’sdifferentWe’veseenalotforourageWehavebothlivedenoughlifetoknowthat’swhatwewanted”shetoldElla in 2021, admits the first year of marriage is “very difficult.”
Hailey explained, “In the beginning of our marriage, I just wanted to hide. I was like, ‘I don’t want people in my business. I feel like everyone’s up my butt.’ I was like, ‘Is there no anonymity? Can I have it again?'”
In addition to the pressure to make their relationship work, the founder of Rhode Beauty often finds himself fighting social media users who cannot ignore Justin’s past with Gomez. When the Disney Channel alum released her breakup song “Lose You To Love Me” in 2019, Hailey was accused of throwing a dig at Gomez by sharing a picture of her Summer Walker and It’s AikoThe song “I’ll Kill You” via Instagram Stories.
After he called the speculation “complete BS,” Gomez chimed in.
“I’m very grateful for the response to the song. However, I would never hurt another woman,” the singer said via Instagram Live at the time. “So please be nice to everyone.”
Still, the social media drama continued as fans flooded Hailey’s many posts with comments about Gomez.
“Leave me now,” said Hailey via TikTok in April 2022. “I’m minding my business. I’m not doing anything, I’m not saying anything. Please leave me alone. Enough time has passed where it’s legal to leave me alone. I’m begging you. Really. That’s all I’m asking for. Don’t make me miserable somewhere else, please.”
Two months later, the YouTuber expanded his online struggle.
“Something that I find very difficult and stressful for my mental health is social media, and my relationship with social media. I’m a person who struggles with people-pleasing – really wanting everyone to like me and caring about what people say and think,” he said in a video shared to the channel in June 2022. “I appreciate social media and I think it’s a very good and good tool to be able to connect with people. I’m in a place where I’m trying to have the healthiest relationship with social media that I can do it.
