This week, Todd Chrisley began serving his prison sentence.
He and his wife, Julie Chrisley, received convictions on multiple counts of financial fraud.
Chrisley knows best viewers are obviously curious about what life is like now – and what they will be like for many years to come.
The reality camera is no longer following this couple. But we can paint a clear picture of Todd and Julie’s new life.

As previously reported, Todd and Julie Chrisley have officially reported to their respective prisons on January 17.
Todd Chrisley will serve time at Florida’s minimum security prison, FPC Pensacola.
He will serve a 12-year sentence. It was a terrifying and miserable prospect.

Todd would work at the prison in the mornings and evenings. Federal law requires most prisoners to work, which certainly incentivizes the American nightmare of mass incarceration.
The wake up call will be at 4:45 am. Todd is required to make the bed and ensure that the cell area is tidy.
From 5 a.m. to 6 a.m., he would have breakfast with the other inmates.

We don’t yet know what Todd’s prison will do. It’s early to go to prison, maybe Todd isn’t.
It could be anything from landscaping to housekeeping to laundry to library work.
The involuntary use of workers who cannot quit or seek better pay or hours is part of what allows the prison system to survive.

At 11 a.m., Todd will have lunch. Dinner time starts at 4:30pm – almost 12 hours after waking up.
In the evenings, Todd would have time to read, watch television, or play.
It’s movie night. Lights out at 10pm.

Todd will have the option to participate in outdoor team sports such as softball, soccer, and basketball.
FPC Pensacola also has its own gym, track, and racquetball courts for inmates.
There are work programs, such as carpentry and other trade skills. There are also academic opportunities.

Todd has had a complex relationship with various children over the years. However, if they want to visit, they can.
They can have up to five visitors in the evening, and during the day on weekends.
The hours are very limited, but it could be worse.

Meanwhile, Julie Chrisley began serving her 7-year sentence on the same day.
Julie reports to Federal Medical Center (FMC) Lexington, located in Lexington, Kentucky. Yes, they were originally going to punish him at FCI Marianna SCP. Later, plans changed.
FMC Lexington is an administrative security medical center with 1,286 inmates.

The housing units in the facility include basic hygiene furniture and shower facilities, plus a TV area and multipurpose room.
Like her husband, Julie will have numerous vocational training and educational opportunities.
There are also arts and crafts options and athletic programs for inmates.

The UNICOR Federal Prison Industries program “allows inmates the opportunity to work in customer service centers or electronics factories.”
Obviously, that sentence is really bad. It is understandably difficult to put a positive spin on carceral labor.
Julie’s visiting hours may be from 2:25pm to 8:30pm Monday, Thursday, and Friday, plus weekend hours. Or, if he ends up in a prison camp nearby, his hours will be more like Todd’s.
