Today, of course, the family keeps a lower profile.
While they were once proud to share every major moment in their lives with their fans, today, the Duggars fight to protect their privacy at all times.
And nowhere is the shift in policy more evident than in Josiah Duggar and Lauren Swanson’s relationship.
Most of the Duggars have retreated from the spotlight in the year since Josh was convicted of child pornography charges.
But perhaps no one has snared the media as consistently as Josiah and Lauren.
In fact, fans are convinced that the two have been quiet since Lauren secretly gave birth to their second child.
No one has a good explanation why some will keep the important development personal, but many believe that is exactly what is happening.
Largely as a result of these rumours, Josiah and Lauren’s every move is being watched closely these days.
And the couple grabbed the headlines this week with the news that they had moved into a new home.
According to a new report from a British tabloid SunJosiah and Lauren have rented a house in Arkansas for $1,450.
A three-bedroom house in the city of Rogers, Arkansas, is estimated to be worth $347,000.
Many have said that Josiah and Lauren are renting their new home instead of buying it.
Many are taking this as a sign that the Duggars aren’t what they used to be, which they may be.
But interestingly, the couple made a land purchase last year.
In November 2022, Jim Bob transferred 5.92 acres of vacant land from the family home to Josiah and Lauren.
So it looks like Josiah and Lauren are planning to build a house that used to be their parents’ property.
(They would be very close to Jim Bob and Michelle’s “big house,” but that property technically belongs to Josiah now.)
So, the rental is just a temporary home as the couple embarks on a major construction project.
So these young married people may be in a stronger financial position than they seem.
Of course, with the secrecy of the last few months, it is almost impossible to draw clear conclusions about the lives of Josiah and Lauren.
