Josh Duggar will not be released from prison on the scheduled date.
The one you know best, ex 19 Kids and Counting star was found guilty in December 2021 of two counts of receiving and possessing child pornography. He was later sentenced to 151 months – or almost 12.5 years – in federal prison, which means he will be out in August 2032. However, it looks like Josh will be in prison for much longer.

according to Us Weekly Friday, the release date of the 35-year-old reality star was extended by nearly two additional months. The current release date is October 2032. Why the change? Well, the reason for increasing the prison sentence is unknown. At Federal Bureau of Prisons also remain tight-lipped about the situation, just telling KTLA:
“Where there are non-public responsive records, without consent, proof of death, or an overriding public interest, disclosure of the records would invade the personal privacy of others.”
Hmm…
Josh is now serving his sentence in the Seagoville Federal Correctional Institute in Texas, where he is required to follow strict rules, including no unsupervised visits with his wife Anna Duggarseven children. And he has broken one of the rules during that sentence. As We are Sun previously reported, in TLC his personality was allegedly caught with a contraband cell phone and thrown into solitary confinement.
Not only are inmates generally not allowed to have phones in federal prisons, but that’s why they’re in prison after investigators found disturbing images of child pornography. In addition, Josh is not even allowed to “own, use, or have access to a computer or other electronic device capable of Internet storage or photography without prior notice and approval from the US Probation Office” if he is released. So the fact that he has a phone while in prison is a major issue and concern! Could this be the reason his sentence was overturned? Unfortunately, we won’t get an answer as to why he’s staying in jail for another two months — at least, for now. But of course, no one would complain if he stayed at the bar a little longer after all he did!
