Jinger Duggar has been making more appearances in recent weeks.
And it seems all the attention she’s getting has boosted her confidence!
Jinger released her long-awaited memoir last month, and the response from fans has been overwhelming.
His parents’ response, however, remains a mystery.
As expected, Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar have yet to publicly comment on their daughter’s literary debut.
(Technically, this is Jinger’s second book, but her first, Grow Up Duggar, is a collaboration with her sister that came out when Jinger was a teenager. He claimed his involvement with the project was minimal.)
Jinger probably didn’t expect her parents to approve of her book, and she probably wasn’t bothered by the silence.
In fact, it seems that he has embraced his role as the family rebel more than ever.
Jinger has defied her famous family’s dress code for years, and she still receives praise for her rebellious fashion sense.
But in her latest picture, Jinger isn’t exactly breaking her parents’ rules by hanging her shoulders or -gasp! – he kneels.
However, he gives off an air of defiance by sporting a confident smirk and the perennial trademark of the American rebel – a leather jacket!
While there’s nothing risqué about the image, it’s impossible to imagine Jinger doing the pose even a few years ago.
And the picture says a thousand words about how far she came, and how much she flourished in LA, hundreds of miles from her Arkansas upbringing.
In other Jinger news, the 29-year-old is still making the media rounds promoting her book, and she gave a typically candid interview while appearing on The Tamron Hall Show earlier this week.
Opening up about the blatant corruption and hypocrisy at the Basic Life Principles Institute — the church that still dictates her parents’ beliefs — Jinger pulls no punches.
“The story I’m telling you is, you can’t put all these outside standards and rules and say they’re going to do something. They don’t,” he said.
“Your heart must be changed from the inside out and only Jesus can change it.”
Jinger may not be smoking or getting tattoos anytime soon.
But his bravery continues to earn him a reputation as a true rebel with a cause.
And for that, he deserves all the praise that has come his way.
