Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) was mocked Monday for his claims about bipartisanship in the new House GOP committee.
Jordan, Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, told Fox Business’ Maria Bartiromo the first hearing of the House committee investigating the “Weaponization of Government” against conservatives is actually bipartisan because the Republicans invited Tulsi Gabbard and Jonathan Turley to speak.
“I would point out, you know, our first hearing, it was bipartisan,” he said. “We invited Tulsi Gabbard to talk, and she was amazing. On the second panel, Jonathan Turley, she testified for Democrats and Republicans. So we’re trying to make this bipartisan because, frankly, it’s supposed to be.
Critics questioned the “bipartisan” claim, pointing out that Gabbard and Turley often appear on conservative Fox News.
Gabbard previously represented Hawaii’s 2nd congressional district as a Democrat. After a failed presidential campaign in 2020, he left the party and became a paid contributor at Fox. He was a guest host for prime-time personality Tucker Carlson.
Attorney Turley is the legal analyst for the channel.
