Jeremy Clarkson it’s common to walk back THAT controversial column from late last year.
Clarkson came under fire again in December after he wrote a column for Sun call out Meghan Markle and Prince Harry through his retreat from royal life and his subsequent California career. Now, he seems to be facing some consequences for his written words – and he doesn’t care.
But even with Monday’s new apology, it might not go as planned…! Get ready, everyone. This is one DOOZY!

As Perezcious viewers will remember, the jaw-dropping lowlight of Top Gear The star’s last column in December demanded that Markle be stripped “naked” to receive “shame” from people in all parts of Britain:
“At night, I can’t sleep as I lie there, grinding my teeth and dreaming of the day when he is paraded naked through the streets of every town in England while the crowd shouts, ‘shame!’ and throw a clod of dung at him.”
The day after the first column was published, Sun walked back with his own statement on the matter. And now, on Monday, Clarkson herself is doing the same!
But maybe it’s because he’s now facing career consequences?? In the report on Friday morning published by varietythat outlet claims Amazon “likely to part ways” with the television personality. The report states that the decision will come down after the end of the assigned series Clarkson’s Farm and Grand Tour with streaming services. Per varietyat Grand Tour run will end after four more episodes, “the last of which is expected to land in late 2024.” And then that.

F**king around, discovering, and more, perhaps?! Maybe, because in a strange case of time, the 62-year-old television host has appeared in Instagram on Monday morning. In this new post, he talks about his ill-fated December column and offers a general amendment. He also admits to reaching out to the people he works with to try to do the right thing.
With this public apology, Clarkson began by writing:
“One strange thing I’ve noticed lately is that every time a member of parliament or a famous person is asked to apologise, no matter how heartfelt or deep the apology is, it’s not enough for the caller. for it in the first place. So I’ll try to buck the trend this morning by apologizing for something I said in my recent Sun column about Meghan Markle. I apologize. All the way from the balls of my feet to the follicles on my head. This is me putting my hand up. It’s a mea culpa with a bell.
Then, he tried to explain what happened. He wrote the column himself, Clarkson said, and sent it without anyone else reading it to get another opinion on its content.

Soon, he explained, the blowback began. And when he read it again to see what all the fuss was about, he was surprised:
“Normally, I read what I’ve written to someone before I submit it, but I was at home alone on the day, and in a hurry. So when I was done, I just hit send. Then, when the column appeared the next day , the landmine exploded. It was a slow rumble to begin with and I ignored it. But the noise got louder. So I picked up a copy of The Sun to see what the fuss was about. We were all there, I think. At the exact moment when we suddenly know we’re completely messed up. You’re sweating and cold at the same time. And your head hurts. And you feel sick. I can’t believe what I’m reading. Did I really say that? It’s horrible.”
Then, he tries to put the past into context. Using her television career as an example of how she’s not sexist, Clarkson claimed to be “sick of violence against women” despite mentioning exactly that in Markle’s column:
“I immediately knew what was happening. I had been thinking about the scene in Game of Thrones, but I forgot to mention this. So it seems that I really asked for terrible violence to rain on Meghan’s head. I am very angry with myself because in all the controversial days on Top Gear, when I was accused of all that, it was very sexist. We never did ‘women can’t park’ like that. Or suggested that powerful cars are only for men. And I was very happy when Jodie Kidd and Ellen MacArthur set the fastest lap in a reasonably priced car. I’m just not sexist and I hate violence against women. But I guess I’m just proposing.”
Speaking about Monday morning’s news of Amazon’s split from Clarkson, she also explained how the show’s bosses at the venue were angry with her. Amazon, in particular, is “incandescent” in the column, according to the TV host:
“I was mortified and so were everyone else. My phone went crazy. My closest friends were angry. Even my own son took to Instagram to blame me. Sun quickly apologized, and I tried to explain myself. But there were still calls asking me to be fired and charged with hate crimes. More than 60 MPs are demanding action. ITV, which makes Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, and Amazon, which makes the Farm Show and the Grand Tour, are red-hot.

From there, he announced the main point: he sent Harry a Christmas email and Meghan apologized for the cut. He was very clear about that. He said that he achieved both halves of the pair. (Remember, because we’ll be back in a minute.)
Clarkson explains:
“So I wrote to everyone who worked with me to say thank you and then on Christmas morning I sent an email to Harry and Meghan in California to apologize as well. I said I was confused by what was said on TV but the language used in my column was rude and I apologize. In the past thirty years, I have written almost five thousand columns for newspapers and magazines, so it was inevitable that one day, I would do Harry Kane and the sky as one of the bad things. What happened to the piece about Meghan.
He wraps things up by pondering how to move on from the controversy, concluding:
“So I can continue now? Not sure. It’s hard to be interesting and alert at the same time. You never hear laughter from a health and safety seminar. But I promise you this, I’ll try. Who knows? Soon I’ll be grandfather, so next time, I will write about it.”

There’s more to this story! While it appeared on Monday that Clarkson may have been preparing for an apology tour, things suddenly got in the way when the Duke and Duchess of Sussex responded with a “sorry” email.

In the statement sent to people Friday afternoon, a spokesman for Harry and Meghan docuseries stars said email Clarkson ONLY sent to spare author! Also, the spokesperson didn’t stop Clarkson for trying to make himself look better by publicly apologizing to Meghan despite not reaching out and making a mistake with her in private!
Here is the spokesperson’s full statement (below):
“On December 25, 2022, Mr. Clarkson only wrote to Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex. The contents of his correspondence were marked Private and Confidential. While a new public apology has been issued today by Mr. Clarkson, what remains to be addressed is the pattern of writing articles that have long spread that spread hateful rhetoric, dangerous conspiracy theories, and misogyny. While every other piece was also written ‘in haste,’ as they say, it is clear that this was not an isolated incident that was spread quickly, but rather a series of hateful articles.

So which one?! A proper apology from the television personality for both sides party (and Meghan in particular), or a secret message for Harry himself?! It makes a great the difference! As Clarkson finds out now…
