Jennifer Aydin explains her role in spreading infidelity rumors about co-stars Melissa throatand the reason why it did not surprise the audience.
Real Housewives of New Jersey The cast has been divided for months now as tensions continue to flare up between Melissa, her husband Joe Gorgaand his older sister Teresa Giudice. The first talk started to swirl last year when the cameras started rolling for the 13th season of the franchise. Later, it was revealed that Teresa brought up rumors about Melissa allegedly marrying Joe with her longtime friend, Nick Barrotta. The couple openly “laughed off” the claims.
Jennifer admitted that she repeated the rumors because she felt she had to be “authentic”. His intention was “not to hurt Melissa,” but he wanted to expose her Margaret Josephwho claimed to have had an on-screen conversation with an ex-boyfriend, Laura Lee Jensen, about gossip. Margaret is suspected to be the source of the news.
“It’s to show … everyone what [Josephs’] the right color,” Jennifer told Page Six Virtual Reali-Tea podcast. “There is a source here. So, I said bring Laura. Bring Laura in, they Duke out. Like, don’t shoot the messenger here.
“I repeat something,” Jennifer continued, admitting Laura told her Margaret was the source of the rumor. “He told me what Margaret told him. Why did Margaret tell him these things?”
Jennifer explained that although she helped spread the rumor, she took the information with a grain of salt and never believed it. According to Jennifer, the goal is to show the rest of the group that Margaret can’t be trusted.
“I’m talking about Melissa, I’m not saying it’s true. I don’t know it’s true, I don’t believe it’s true,” Jennifer explained to the outlet. “What I’m saying is that we should be lighthearted when it comes to Margaret because that’s how she gossips among her friends.”
Jennifer further defended her choice to air the attack on Melissa’s character, claiming, “If I don’t do it, someone else will…”
“At that point in time, we got one of Margaret’s ex-best friends going rogue,” he said RHONJ the star said. “I don’t want to hide things when we’re filming, I want to be authentic to what’s happening in real life and this is happening in real life.”
