Jenelle Evans has reportedly achieved a major life goal.
No, he didn’t set a personal keg stand record; not as far as we know, at least.
However, according to our friends at The Ashley’s Reality Roundup, the Teen Mom 2 alum has finally won custody of her 14-year-old son Jace, after fighting with his mother for most of his teenage life.
Jace has lived under the roof of his grandmother, Barbara, since birth.
As MTV viewers also know, from Jenelle’s time in the franchise mentioned above, Barbara has succeeded in defeating her daughter in court on many occasions at any time Evans tries to gain custody of Jace.
The longtime reality star lost custody due to a history of substance abuse.
But now?
Based on legal documents obtained by The Ashley, Barbara has by will agreed to give custody of Jace back to Jenelle.
A court hearing was held in North Carolina earlier this week for “modification of custody” in regard to Jenelle and Jace’s father, Andrew Lewis, although it is not clear if the latter is in attendance.
Barbara retained an attorney for the matter … but does not appear to be fighting a custody modification at this time.
“Jace has become too much for Barbara to handle. That’s the main reason she’s letting Jenelle have custody,” a source told The Ashley.
Jenelle has shared custody of the young man for years, as her relationship with Barbara has gone through some major ups and downs.
In a series of Instagram Stories posted last October, Jenelle addressed a fan comment that read, “Jace should have been with Barb.”
“Comments like this are really something I don’t want to share my life with anymore,” Jenelle said at the time, telling followers:
“Don’t believe everything you see on the TV screen, either [are] heard from a third party.”
That same month, Jenelle dumped her mother and was accused of stealing Jace.
“Someone took my baby, didn’t let me have a chance to raise my baby, then kicked me out, took my baby, because they were jealous of the guy I was dating at the time,” Evans said at the time.
“Try to see why I was kicked out and went home, all my things were outside in the middle of the yard.
“As a parent, I would never do this to my children.”
Jenelle said she feels like her mother “switched” her with Jace and that Barbara has no “right” to take the child.
We cannot say exactly what has changed since then.
But Evans signaled on Facebook this week that there would be significant changes.
“I’m about to get the unthinkable and can’t wait to share the news with everyone,” she wrote on Tuesday.
