Jenelle Evans Granted Custody of Son Jace, 13, After Years of Drama

A major change. Teenage Mother 2 alum Jenelle Evans was awarded custody of son Jace, 13, after more than a decade of his mother, Barbara Evansbe responsible for taking care of the eldest child.

“My mom and I decided together to give me full custody because we want to rebuild our relationship as mother and daughter,” Jenelle, 31, said. Us Weekly in a statement on Friday, March 18.

The former MTV personality shares Jace with his ex Andrew Lewis. Jace will live with his mother and his wife, David Eason.

“Also, my mom agrees that it’s time for Jace to go back with his siblings and live with his mom and dad,” Jenelle continued. “He also thinks it’s important for Jace to be around a father figure to learn ‘boyhood’ and have ‘man talk.’ He has seen the way David parents my children and he knows that we can handle it. We want everything to get along for our children and as I said before, rebuild our relationship as mother and daughter. We have officially signed the papers on Thursday, March 16 in the courthouse, it’s over!”

The reality TV star is in a stable relationship with Eason, the manager said. “Jenelle and David are always together and it’s great. They’re a happy family and that’s okay,” August Keen toward us in an exclusive statement there.

Shortly after Jace’s birth in September 2009, the North Carolina native — then 17 — gave legal custody of his first child to his mother.

MTV viewers watched as Jenelle and Barbara fought over Jace for years while on Teenage Mother 2 The camera rolled, with Barbara often complaining that her daughter did not do enough to care for him and Jenelle accused her mother of not allowing her to parent him. During the drama, the Reading Between the Lines The writer’s substance abuse and Rocky’s romantic relationship only cause more tension between him and his mother – and impact his relationship with Jace.

In 2017, the YouTube personality – who is also the mother of 8-year-old son Kaiser, whom she shares with her ex. Nathan Griffith, and daughter Ensley, 6, who she shares with Eason – appears to be in a stable place in her life. She and Eason had bought a property, recently became Ensley’s parents and were about to get married. However, Barbara wasn’t invited because she didn’t feel comfortable giving custody of Jenelle to Jace.

“I can’t forgive someone who just won’t give my child back, so, and still continues. It’s not resolved,” said the former MTV personality us in time. “And if I had custody of her now, maybe I would invite her, but I don’t right now.”

Two years later, another drama rocked in front of Eason when his wife Jenelle shot and killed the family dog, Nugget, after being bitten by Ensley. After the May 2019 incident, Jenelle and David lost custody of their children. The prisoner was reinstated two months later.

“I’m so excited to get custody of my kids,” Jenelle said us in time. “Throughout this long process and final decision, I’m excited to move forward and continue to show America that I’m a good parent.”

Two years later, Jenelle explained that Jace was living with her and Eason more often amid the coronavirus pandemic because the teenager’s behavior “wasn’t the best at my mom’s house,” she said in a YouTube video at the time.

“We gave him many, many, many chances, and told him he’d better behave, and my mom just — she’s fed up,” the OnlyFans content creator said. “And he called me and he said, ‘Yeah, that’s it, he’s misbehaving again. I don’t know how he’s going to do his schoolwork and graduate if he stays.'”
