Mr. ShahHis prison release date appears to have been moved from 2029 to 2028, cutting his sentence by a year.
The Federal Bureau of Prisons inmate database lists the The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star’s release date is August 30, 2028. That reduces the sentence from 78 months to 66 months. Us Weekly has reached out to her attorney for comment.
Shah, 49, requested a sentence at the Federal Prison Camp, Bryan (FPC Bryan) in Texas and surrendered on February 17.
The Bravo star was arrested in March 2021 – during the production of season 2 of ROSLC – and charged with conspiracy to commit wire fraud and conspiracy to commit money laundering. He maintained his innocence until July 2022 when he pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit wire fraud. He was sentenced in January 2023 to six and a half years in prison.
In addition to prison terms, his sentence – which also included five years of supervised release – required Shah to pay $6,645,251 in restitution and forfeit $6,500,000, 30 luxury items and 78 counterfeit luxury items.
“With today’s sentence, Jennifer Shah finally faces the consequences of her years of targeting vulnerable and elderly victims,” the US Attorney said. Damian Williams said in a January press release. “These people were duped by false promises of financial security, but in reality, Shah and his conspirators cheated them out of their savings and have nothing to show for it. This conviction and sentence demonstrates once again that we will continue to protect victims of financial fraud and hold them accountable to those involved in the fraudulent scheme.
A day before his surrender, Shah recorded a video interview in which he showed his emotional feelings before entering FPC Bryan.
“There are a lot of emotions I’m feeling right now and getting ready to give up is emotional,” Shah said at the time. “You know I would be lying if I wasn’t nervous and scared. Being away from my family, what I fear the most is that you know that the transition will not be able to hug and kiss my son and my wife every day and my mother, but at the same time, all the emotions that’s me too. feel hopeful and motivated to do a good job, you know, and make the most of my time.”
Since reporting to prison, Shah has kept the world updated about his time in the mansion through an online diary. She reported to the federal facility with her husband Sharrieff Shah, who married in August 1994, and son Omar, 19, by her side. (Jen and Sharrieff also share their son Sharrieff Jr., 29.)
“I keep thinking this is crazy, it’s ridiculous. Why am I here? I mean, I know why I’m here, but it feels like someone like me doesn’t belong here. I’ve never been in trouble before,” she wrote earlier this month. .” Then I immediately stopped myself from going down this path of self-destructive thinking. I’m here because of my bad decisions. I’m here because I did this to myself and I have no one to blame but myself.
