Jen Shah Ordered to Complete Mental Health Program After Jail Sentence

We have an update on the new punishment handed down to Jen Shah.

The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star pleaded guilty in July to conspiracy to commit wire fraud in connection with telemarketing.

For those unfamiliar with his case, Shah pleaded guilty at the time to orchestrating a scam in which he and his accomplices tricked elderly citizens into stealing financial information.

Really despicable stuff.

Shah was later sentenced to 78 months in federal prison a few days ago.

Now, according to documents obtained by TMZ, we can confirm that Shah will also must participate in a mental health treatment program after this time behind bars is served.

“You must continue to take your prescribed medication unless otherwise directed by your health care provider,” the order said.

“You must contribute to the cost of the services provided based on your ability to pay and the availability of third party payments.”

Jen Shah is off The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City… and she’s also going to federal prison.

The former Bravo personality said she suffered from depression and was on antidepressants during an episode of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City.

In the new installment, the soon-to-be inmate tells his friends that he has tried to kill himself after being charged in a federal case.

Shah claimed when she had locked herself in the bathroom and her husband broke the door.

As a result, he said he was hospitalized for more than two days.

At his sentencing, Shah told the judge:

“I’m sorry.

“My actions hurt innocent people. I want to apologize by saying, I am doing everything I can to get the funds to pay the restitution…

“Mental issues that have gone untreated for a long time have caused me to create a broken reality. This is a crucible moment for me.

“With the right medication, I can now see what’s going on. I wish I had stood outside myself. I’m sorry.”

An insider recently confirmed that Shah is a crying wreck ahead of his prison sentence, which is scheduled to begin on February 17 in Texas.

However, he certainly does not have many sympathizers.

Referring to The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, the aforementioned judge said in Shah’s latest hearing:

“People should not confuse, and this court will not confuse, the character that I played in the entertainment show with the person that I had before.

“The rest is acting and this is reality.”
