Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-Texas) laughed when asked to address a scathing New York Post report that characterized her as a nightmare for her staff.
“Trump critic Rep. Jasmine Crockett is a no-show boss from hell who terrorizes staffers, aides say: ’All diva, no wow,” read a Thursday headline from the conservative tabloid.
The story cited three anonymous sources who said they had worked for or with Crockett. Those sources alleged that Crockett, whose quips and clapbacks have made her a rising Democratic star, is verbally abusive to staffers, creates a “toxic” environment for workers and is more focused on being an “influencer” than getting things done for her constituents.
“Are you a no-show boss from hell who terrorizes staffers?” host Major Garrett asked, prompting Crockett to laugh.
“Oh my goodness,” she replied. “I know that I have arrived, honey. That is the way that I see this. Because as Beyoncé says, if they’re not talking about you, then obviously you must not be doing anything.”

She went on to call the report “slander,” “nonsense,” and “lies,” adding that she doubted the Post would be “the first ones to be able to figure out if I was a boss from hell.”
Crockett, 44, said she faces a lot “scrutiny” as a young, Black woman.
“There’s a lot of scrutiny that comes my way, and it comes my way from all different angles, but when people start talking about you, that’s when you know that you are obviously getting under their skin,” she said. “So I am not going to give up.”
