Invest resources in developmental projects, not independence day – Sophia Akuffo

According to the former chief judge at Citi TV, considering investing in development projects will be in the best interest of the people, although it is important to mark the event.

“We have to celebrate Independence Day, but to gather and march is not a problem. I think whatever money will be spent on this celebration with all the people go to the Volta region, if they have chosen the disenfranchised district and build a new school or vote district hospital or health center that is ramshackle and upgraded and named independence school or independence hospital, that would be good.

“Then every year they pick an area and a project and do it, which will be better money … and that’s it.”

The capital of the Volta region, Ho, will play host on Monday March 6 to the national celebration of Ghana’s 66th Independence anniversary, while other regions are also hosting durbars to mark the day.
