Injured Mohammed Kudus set to miss 2026 World Cup after Ghana squad omission

Ghana international Mohammed Kudus has been left out of the Black Stars squad for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup preparation camp and friendly against Wales.

Head coach Carlos Queiroz has named a 28-man squad for the preparatory camp and the friendly match in Cardiff.

The squad released by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) on Monday consists of five goalkeepers, nine defenders, seven midfielders, and seven forwards as preparations intensify ahead of the World Cup.

Notably, Tottenham Hotspur attacker Mohammed Kudus is missing from the squad. The Black Stars poster boy has not featured for his club in England since January 4.

While reports are suggesting he could recover in time for the World Cup, concerns remain about his match sharpness and overall condition.

Kudus is widely regarded as one of Ghana’s most important players, but his exclusion is seen as a precautionary decision as he continues his rehabilitation.

With the World Cup approaching, his availability will remain a major talking point, especially when he remains one of the national team’s best players.
