INEC declares Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu Reps inconclusive

The result of the Kabba/Bunu/Ijumu House of Representatives election has been declared uncertain by Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

On Sunday, the Returning Officer, Adams Baba, announced this at Kabba, the Kogi State collection centre.

Mr. Baba said the declaration was due to the difference between the winning margin and the nullified results in the two polling units.

He said the difference in results between the winner, Salman Idris of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Kolawole Matthew, was less than the number of registered voters in the canceled polling unit.

“ADC candidates polled 13,867 while APC polled 13,605 leaving only 262 votes, while the number of PVCs collected in polling units was cancelled. Iya in Otu, Kabba / Bunu LGA ward was 485 and Open Space polling unit in Egbeda, Ijumu ward. LGA 100.
