Inadequate staff, hostel affects Bolga Midwifery training College – Principal
The Bolgatanga Midwifery training college in the Upper East Region appealed to the government for the recruitment of staff and the construction of dormitory facilities for academic work in the college.
The college had to turn away 570 applicants for the 2022/23 academic year due to inadequate accommodation and understaffing.
Speaking at the 17th matriculation in Bolgatanga, the Principal, Christiana Amalba, expressed concern over the situation and called on stakeholders to intervene.

“Many prospective students apply to this college every year and every time we are faced with a painful decision because we have to reject many qualified applicants but due to the challenge of low academic staff and insufficient facilities, especially accommodation. of students.
Out of 792 applicants, only 222 students were accepted for special training in this college”.
“I want to use this media to ask for the support of all interested parties, investors, local entrepreneurs, alumni and all stakeholders in and outside the region to help build dormitory facilities to solve this urgent student accommodation problem” .
Mrs. Amalba further assured the matriculants of her commitment to create an environment conducive to better academic work.
He advised the students to invest their energy in their studies and avoid all undisciplined acts.

He informed that all matriculants must sign a bond of good behavior and abide by the rules and regulations of the college.
For his part, the Minister of the Upper East Region, Stephen Yakubu, expressed the government’s commitment to address some of the challenges facing the college.
He warned the nurses to study seriously and avoid any bad behavior.
They are more careful not to use their mobile phones on social media platforms that may bring the name of the institution into disrepute, but instead use the application to advance their studies.
