The Nigerian Premier football league, NPFL reaches the half way mark with nine matchdays this weekend
Just like last week, there was no away win as the six matches played resulted in four home wins and two draws with a total of 11 goals scored.
Insurance remains undefeated
At the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Bendel Insurance broke through another unbeaten hurdle with a lone win over Enyimba.
It was the Peoples Elephant’s first defeat after going unbeaten in three games.
Imade Osarenkhoe, who has been in high-flying mood, scored his sixth goal of the season on the half-hour mark to give Monday Odigie a much-needed victory and extend their lead at the top of the table to seven points.
The Benin Gunners have now extended their unbeaten run to nine games this season.
Four goal thriller in Ibadan again
Similar to the scoreline in Ibadan last season, Akwa United forced Shooting Stars to a 2-2 draw at the Lekan Salami Stadium.
For Gbenga Ogunbote, it was another bad day at the office for the gaffer whose team has enjoyed just one win in their last five games.

Joshua Akpan put Warriors Oluyole ahead in the 14th minute before Uche Collins restored parity six minutes later. The Promise Keepers then quickly scored a second goal with a tap-in from Liman Ahmadu in the 23rd minute.
On the stroke of half an hour, Ajani Ibrahim leveled for the hosts to see Shooting Stars record their second successive home draw.
The draw moved Akwa United into third place with 15 points, while Shooting Stars remained in sixth place with 10 points.

In Benue, Lobi Stars grabbed two quick goals in two minutes to beat Doma United as they bounced back from a narrow defeat in last week’s midweek match.

Joseph Atule made it four in the seventh minute before Abba Umar doubled his lead two minutes later.
The win moved the Benue state club four points clear of defending champions Rivers United with two games remaining while Doma United failed to qualify due to defeat.
Elsewhere, Samson Olasupo’s 59th minute strike made the difference as Sunshine Stars of Akure beat Wikki Tourist by a solitary goal to move into second place on the log.

Also on Sunday, Godwin Obaje’s fifth goal was canceled out by Robert Mizo as Bayelsa United were held to a 1-1 draw at home by Enugu Rangers.
Niger Tornadoes completed their league action on Sunday with a 1-0 win over Dakkada FC which moved them to sixth position in group B.
