Actor Arnold Schwarzenegger on Monday released a powerful video message to haters amid rising antisemitism around the world.
The former California governor admits hate has “always been an easy road” but offered some blunt home truths about how “it’s going to destroy you in the end.”
“There is no successful movement based on hate,” he said.
“Think about it,” says the movie star-turned-politician. “Nazis? A loser. Confederacy? A loser. The Apartheid Movement? A loser. And the list goes on and on.
“I don’t want you to be a loser,” Schwarzenegger said, admitting that he knows “how people can get caught up in prejudice and hate.” He promised that the initial turmoil caused by the rejection of hate would pay off.
Recalling last year’s visit to the Nazi concentration camp Auschwitz, Schwarzenegger said it was “terrifying” to walk around and “put me in the shoes of the people who were put in those gas chambers.”
People who can’t let go of their hatred will “die a miserable death,” he said.
