If we vote today around the world, 80% of sitting governments will lose – Kennedy Agyapong
The impact of the Covid-19 pandemic as well as the Russia-Ukraine war on the global economy has made all governments around the world unpopular, Assin Central Member of Parliament Kennedy Agyapong said.
“I can say that all over the world, governments are facing the same problem also because of the Russia-Ukraine war after Covid.
“I have always said that if we vote today all over the world, 80 percent of the sitting governments will lose because of the hardships all over the world, citizens cannot bear it and that is why all governments are unpopular,” the flag bearer said. from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) spoke on the program Good evening Ghana, Tuesday 31 January.
He also said that he can help the NPP break the 8-year election cycle if he is elected as the party’s flag bearer before the 2024 general elections.
Without him, he said, it would be difficult for the party.
Speaking on the Good Evening Ghana program on Tuesday, January 31, the Assin Central Member of Parliament said “With me, the NPP can eliminate 8, without me it will be difficult,” he said.
He further indicated that former President John Dramani Mahama is not an alternative to lead Ghana again as President.
“Mahama is not an alternative. He is lucky to succeed Atta Mills, he was president for four years and we see what happened.
“What will Mahama say to Ghanaians?”
He added “the fear of John Mahama coming to power is that he has not proven himself to be a good leader. Give him another chance…he only needs one term, four years, even if he knows that if he manages the economy well, he will have another chance that will not can be done. Now he will have one term only God knows what will happen.
“The alternative is not good for Ghana.”
