If the polls continue like this can Sunak survive? – politicalbetting.com

If the Tories were hoping that the New Year would see a turnaround in their dire polling situation, they will be disappointed. We have now seen quite a few polls conducted since the beginning of the year leading up to that conclusion.

What is clear is that the change of leadership in the autumn to first Truss and then Sunak has had no effect on the way voters see the current governing party.

This is all happening as we approach when the next general election should be held and now I feel that Sunak may not survive the year as prime minister. They need something to show that they have an election appeal and for three months it has not appeared.

We are now less than four months away from this year’s local elections when the possibility of heavy losses should be high. Could this be the trigger for a movement against Sunak?

Labor now seem more confident and while Starmer may be bored, he is not an electoral liability.
