There are four houses University of Idaho students were brutally killed last November will fall down, and a memorial will be erected for the four victims.
Of course, we have been covering the tragic story of the Moscow murders since late last year. In the early morning of November 13, four UI students – Xana Kernodle, Ethan Chapin, Madison Mogenand Kaylee Goncalves – was stabbed to death in the house they shared near the campus on King Street in the city of Moscow.
Since then, Washington State graduate student in criminology Bryan Kohberger has been arrested on suspicion of murder and taken into custody. As the police continue to build a case against him, a university student in Moscow is left with a terrible incident. Now, it looks like at least one question has been answered.

On Friday morning, the president of the U of I Scott Green confirmed the owner of the King Street home has graciously given the building to the college. With these donations, Green explained, the university can take its next “healing step.” They plan to destroy the structure in order to discourage the efforts of those who want to “sensationalize” the crime scene. In a statement released earlier this weekend, Green explained:
“The owner of the King Street house offered to give the house to the university, which they accepted. The house will be demolished. This is a step towards healing and removing the physical structure where the crime that shook our community was committed. … We are evaluating options where students can participate in the development of the property in the future.
The college president added:
“We will never forget Xana, Ethan, Madison and Kaylee, and I will do everything I can to protect their dignity and honor their memory. Together we will rebuild and continue to support each other.
Green also confirmed that the school is considering separate memorials for the four victims. It is unclear whether the memorial will be at the location of the house that will be demolished or elsewhere on campus.

Whatever eventually happens with the memorial, demolition is probably a wise move.
