I was never threatened – Pensioner Bondholders Convener

The Convener for Pension Bondholders, Dr Adu Anane Antwi, has denied rumors that he received life-threatening messages for advocating for pensioners seeking exemption from the government’s domestic debt exchange programme.

Dr. Antwi in his disclaimer said that he never received any threatening messages during his activities and advocacy that led to the release of pensioners from the debt restructuring program.

“My attention has been drawn to a tweet by Janji Dumevi dated February 16, 2023, which circulated on social media that made the following statement to me: I have received many threatening messages warning me to stay away from the picket at the finance ministry. But I want to assure you that I cannot be silent or give up on my savings until I die.

He added, “I want to inform the general public that this information is false because I have not received a threatening message, and it does not say anywhere that I have received a threatening message warning me to stay away from the pensioners’ picket at the Ministry of Finance. The general public is advised not to pay attention to the information mentioned.
