Speaking about his ambitions this season, Kudus said he hopes to win the league and cup double with Ajax, stressing that he has yet to achieve anything.
“The goal is to win the cup and the league and until I get it, I haven’t done anything. So there’s more to come. There’s more to do,” told Ajax TV.
Kudus is currently enjoying his most prolific spell in front of goal after finally overcoming injury and settling at Ajax.
The young playmaker has been in rich form having contributed 17 goals and four assists in all competitions this season.
He also scored twice and provided one assist for Ghana at the World Cup despite the Black Stars exiting the group stage.
Meanwhile, Kudus’ stunning free-kick goal against Sparta Rotterdam, which was celebrated in tribute to the late Christian Atsu, has been named Goal of the Month for February.
The Ghana international scored an 84th-minute free-kick to complete Ajax’s 4-0 win over Sparta Rotterdam last month.
Kudus celebrated by taking off his shirt and sharing the message “RIP Atsu” as a tribute to his former international team-mate who was tragically killed in the earthquake in Turkey.
The referee should have booked him for taking off his shirt, but match official Pol van Boekel gave Kudus a pass, knowing that his movements were more than football.
The stunning free-kick goal has now been named goal of the month, with Kudus receiving the award on Tuesday.
