Stand-up comedian, Derick Kobina Bonney popularly known as DKB has finally dispelled rumors that he bribed Africa 2012 organizers to move multiple award winning singer Mildred Ashong popularly known as Eazzy from VIP to the regular section of the house. .

Big Brother Africa is the African version of the international reality television franchise Big Brother created by producer John de Mol in 1997.

The show first aired in 2003 for one season on M-Net and was broadcast to audiences in 42 African countries.

However, DKB, together with famous singer and his girlfriend Keitta, represented Ghana in the 7th season of Big Brother Africa. dubbed StarGame in 2012.

Before starting the edition, Eazzy was more popular than DKB but the ace comedian was moved to the VIP section of the house while the singer was moved to the regular section.

This caused a huge controversy in the showbiz fraternity in 2012. A section of the showbiz fraternity accused DKB of bribing the organizers of Africa’s biggest reality show to move Eazzy and his girlfriend to the regular section.

Responding to this in an interview with entertainment reporter Ekow Koomson on Ghanaweekend TV, DKB refuted the allegations:

“There are ridiculous rumors that I was moved to the VIP section of the House because I bribed the committee to move Eazzy to the regular section because Eazzy is more popular than me and wants to be a star like him… It’s a lie.. it’s a ridiculous rumour”.

Explaining why he was moved to the VIP section through Eazzy, DKB stressed that he had been recognized by the committee as a star because he worked with them before the edition.

“I was recognized by the organizers of Big Brother as a star in Ghana because a year before the edition, M-net had a comedy club for the best African comedians, so they flew me to Uganda to perform there… So when they were looking for a star. to the 7th edition, he entered the system and saw that he already had the details, he recognized me as someone who had done something for him … .a star … so he invited me, I went for an audition and I was selected.
